Dash cams are getting more popular, and an essential if you live in places like Russia or China. Garmin's latest Dash Cam will hit the market in February, and it will sit inside your windshield to record everything that's happening in front of your vehicle through a wide angle lens.

Also, if you get into an accident, it will automatically time stamp and geo tag the footage so that an insurance claim or a police investigation becomes easier.

The Dash Cam will start recording everything it sees and there's a 4GB microSD card that can be upgraded to 32GB. That's a great option if you live and drive in a dangerous area.

The built-in sensors can automatically detect incidents or accidents based on braking or sudden stops and stores the relevant video files with the added location, time, speed and directional data.

If nothing happens, the video is recorded over when the card fills up.

The camera can be quickly removed for taking snapshots of damage or other information if something happens.
