Valentine's Day drops at the beginning of a weekend, which could only mean one thing: INSTA VACAY!

Think about it. It's the perfect opportunity to go on an incredibly loved-up, mini-vacation.

Of course, heading to a destination nearest to your location would be the easiest option. But if you want a holiday equivalent to a luscious honeymoon getaway, Maldives might be where you should be headed, at least according to a survey by Agoda.com.

The popular hotel booking site conducted a global online survey in January and February 2014, asking more than 15,000 Agoda.com travelers to pick their dream honeymoon location from among 20 destinations. The results returned a whopping one in five travelers opting for the Maldives, with the Greek Islands, Paris, and Bali contending for second place, as you can see in this infographic of the Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations 2014:

"We know the Maldives is a popular destination for couples but we were surprised that its allure is so global," said Errol Cooke, Vice President Global Hotels. "Among countries where we had more than 100 respondents, only three didn't pick it as the most popular dream honeymoon destination – The Philippines, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand."

The Maldives was also picked as the most popular honeymoon spot among Agoda.com travelers from North America, Europe and Asia. but the choice for runner-up depended on where respondents were from. For Europeans it was Bali and for North Americans, the Greek Islands.

Hitting closer to home, Malaysian travelers selected Maldives as the number one honeymoon destination with a solid 20% of the total country votes, while Paris took second place with 14%, Istanbul with 10%, New Zealand at number 4 with 8% and Bali cutting the top five at 7% of votes.
