The worst thing for Beijing right now, is to not try anything at all to get rid of some of that smog. But the Chinese are not the kind to sit around and do nothing. The world is also lending a hand. Here's one idea from London-based architectural firm Orproject.

The "Bubbles" concept is designed to be an encapsulated oasis of clean air. It will house a park and botanical garden and above the canopy, its translucent solar cells are meant to collect whatever light that penetrates Beijing's perpetual gloom.

Obviously, it sounds like a business concept more so than a way to help the entire city. Will it ever come to fruition?
