Japan’s Fast Retailing Co., the owner of Uniqlo, is said to be in talks to purchase J.Crew for as much as $5 billion. In addition to Uniqlo, Fast Retailing also owns brands like Helmut Lang and Theory. The move is seen as the company's attempt to get a major foothold in the U.S. market.
