Faire Play is a set of 3D-printed medieval armor designed specifically for the Fashionistas line of Barbie dolls. Created by Jim Rodda, aka Zheng3, the project has an ongoing Kickstarter campaign to provide funds for a much-improved version of the parade armor.

Rodda has also made the Athena Makeover Kit, files for a shield, spear, and some boots. But the bigger question is, while little girls are now being taught to be independent and not so girly-like even when playing with a girly toy, would they want to send their Barbies into battle? If Mattel put a Medieval Barbie line on the shelves, I have no doubt that it will sell - throw in a horse and Medieval-style gowns and it'll be sold out! But would you go online and particularly order Faire Play?

Hmmm.

Faire Play's promo video is cute and entertaining though!
