'Same-Sex Hand Holding' Campaign Stirs Up Controversy In Japan
2014.04.05
Japan might seem wacky at times, but they are quite strict when it comes to things like public displays of affection, regardless of your sexuality.
To challenge this, members of the LGBT+ community in Japan decided to set up a special Twitter based campaign called 27GO. The campaign seeks to promote public hand holding amongst same-sex couples on the 27th of each month.
今日は27日!

Supporters are encouraged to tweet photographs of themselves holding hands to the official 27GO twitter account which will then be retweeted. They can also pick up a pair of special 27GO wrist bands, which will be handed out during "Tokyo Rainbow Week" on April 27th, 2014.
