Congratulations! You are turning 30 this year. Or are already 30. Either way, you'll have to be checking on a different age-box in forms from now on. The ride from here on out is going to be very different from your 20s, and here are a couple of improvements you should be making.

1. Join a gym. You're not young anymore.

2. Eat healthily. High cholesterol is a silent killer.

3. Invest and save your money. Don't rely on your salary to get rich.

4. Meet up with at least two friends every month.

5. Dress your age. Not your nephew or niece's.

6. Stop procrastinating.

7. Travel at least twice a year.

8. Get your career in order, if you haven't already.

9. Learn a new skill. Sewing, carpentry, coding. There are so many.

10. Read at least 3 books a year.

11. Make time for your parents/grandparents. You'll wish you did when they're gone.

12. Drink more water, not alcohol.

13. Your skin is your body's largest and fastest-growing organ, so take care of it.

14. Improve your sleeping habits.

15. Learn how to distinguish real friends from toxic ones.

16. Learn how to distinguish between an impulse buy and something that will last a lifetime.

17. Stop trying to figure out other people; start trying to figure out who you really are.

18. Let go of the past, accept the present and embrace the future.

19. If you don't cook, start.

20. If you do cook, come up with your own signature dish.

21. Being an adult is no excuse for being a slob, so learn the basics on how to clean up after yourself.

22. Apply for a checking account.

23. Floss more.

24. Keep up with the news. Don't rely on your newsfeed.

25. Stop typing with leet speak. Not everyone will understand you.

26. Don't fall into the trap of having FOMO.

27. Value experience over material things.

28. Meditate and unwind from technology at least once a week.

29. Find the perfect balance between work and play.

30. Keep these resolutions for life.
