Check out these pin-up images that were hand painted by Gil Elvgren back in the 1950s. The artist's iconic style involves depicting impossibly curvy ladies doing sexy poses in all sorts of silly situations.

Nerve.com recently decided to find out a little more about the real women who posed for these posters. Judging by the vintage photos below, its pretty obvious that the artist altered the models' bodies to make them look appear more attractive.

If anything, these pictures are proof that photo manipulation in the media is really nothing new. The only difference today is that we do it digitally.
