It may seem that everyone in France is named Emma. And you may be right. Almost everyone that is! Le Monde's Alexandre Léchenet has created maps detailing the most-used names for girls and boys in France, from 1946 to 2011.

Marie and Martine were popular in the 50s. Nathalie had a long run in the 60s and early 70s. From 2004 to 2011, Emma was the most popular.
