TED Talk Organizers Should Probably Start Running Background Checks On All Their Speakers [VIDEO]
2014.05.19
There's a reason why people love TED Talks. Where else can you be exposed to speeches presented by some of the world's greatest innovators, leaders, dreamers and doers?
But one former TED speaker named Jill Hansen is now making headlines... for all the wrong reasons. The professional surfer and model is reportedly being held on a MILLION DOLLAR bail after she allegedly tried to kill an elderly woman in Hawaii.
According to reports, Hansen ran over the 73-year-old victim using her Volkswagen Passat before reversing in an attempt to run over the victim again.
It was only after an eyewitness bashed the back window of the vehicle with a crowbar that Hansen stopped, got out and abandoned her car. Police eventually traced the vehicle to Hansen and arrested her last week.
Besides her appalling driving record, Hansen also apparently has a long history of violent behavior. Her own father previously filed a restraining order against her because she allegedly used Facebook to find someone to murder him and his family. Scary.
