SS15 is known to be heavily populated with students, thanks to the number of private schools and colleges in the area. A decade ago, McDonald's and Starbucks were some of the more popular haunts for students to grab a bit and hang out or study, with the Asia Cafe food court around the corner providing a cheap and convenient meal option.

Now the Subang neighborhood has grown a selection of cozy cafes and restaurants that both students and people in the area can enjoy. If you're in the area, be sure to try out some of these recommended places. We've also included some eateries that have been in SS15 for a long time.

Rojak SS15

Located opposite Pan Bakery, you can expect to stand in line for quite awhile just to sample the delights at this popular stall. Besides the famed rojak, the stall also sells cendol to cool down your palate, and local pastries. Head on over any day of the week between 11.30am and 7.30pm.

Burgertory

Open only from 6 to 11pm from Tuesday to Sunday, Burgertory makes for a sinfully hearty dinner. Imagine sinking your teeth into a juicy pork patty consecrated with crunchy croutons of pork lard! Each set comes with a soft drink and fries/wedges slathered with homemade sauce.

Coffee Chemistry Signature

Located at First Subang Mall, one of the main highlights at this cafe is their creative coffee art. You'll be amazed by the 2D and 3D creations made from just a little foam and a whole lotta imagination. Visit the cafe any day of the week between 10am and 11pm.

RT Pastry House

This is the perfect place to find scrumptious tea time snacks. But you might want to go earlier in the day, as the popular treats here are almost always sold out by nightfall. RT Pastry House has other branches located in different areas of the Klang Valley, but if you're in the Subang vicinity, drop by RT Pastry House and pick up some of these delights between 8am and 10pm.

Be prepared to spend: Small cakes for below RM10, bigger cakes anywhere between RM15 and RM50
Recommended eats: Green Tea and Red Bean Spongecake, Red Bean Bun, Hokkaido Cake, Black Diamond, Chantilly Fruit Cake, Chocolate Swiss Roll, French Cheese Loaf, Japanese Light Cheese Loaf, Strawberry Garden.

The Hungry Hog

This place is truly a pork-lover's paradise! Hopefully you won't end up being too bloated from devouring these meaty meals. The Hungry Hog is closed on Mondays, but is otherwise open from 12-3pm for lunch, and 6 to 10pm for dinner.

Lleone's Pizzas and Such

If you think this place is just another wannabe pizzeria, think again. The bestseller here is the tender buffalo chicken wings with special tangy sauce. Open daily from 12pm to 1am.

Recommended eats: Banana Milkshake, Blackcurrant Frizzie, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Croquettes, and a mysterious dish known only as the "L'leone's Special"


Coffea Coffee

For coffee lovers who are sick and tired of Starbucks, this cafe is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the area. With a cozy interior that makes one relax his or her mind, Coffea Coffee is open daily from 8am until 11pm.

Recommended eats and drinks: alted Caramel Cheesecake,  Peanut Butter Latte/Frappuccino, Green Tea Frappuccino, Pandan Gula Melaka Cake, Maestro Caffe Latte.


Salmon Steak Restaurant

Nothing pretentious here. Just expect good food at really decent prices!

The Street Café

The menu here comprises of authentic Korean street food with a twist. Instead of pork, this halal eatery replaces it with seafood and other meats.

Da Sa Rang

This Korean restaurant franchise is popular for its Korean barbecue, and it's also a great place to enjoy some of the authentic Korean dishes. Open daily from 11am until 11pm.

Recommended eats: Dolsot-Bibim-Bap, Dukbokki, Jap Chae, Kimchi Jeong Gol, Samgyeopsal


Sumi-Ka Japanese Yakitori

Open daily from 6pm to 12am, this restaurant is frequented by Japanese expats in the area, so you can expect an authentic Japanese yakitori experience. The place isn't very big, so it's best to make a reservation.

Recommended eats: Beef & Mutton Yakitori, Gyutan, Oyakodon, Sunazuri, Yagabrata, Yakitori Don.


Restoran Uncle Seng

For a cheap and good eat, this ordinary-looking Chinese restaurant has yummy choices that include wantan noodles, char siew, curry chicken, chicken feet mushroom, shredded chicken, braised pork noodles, and deep fried pork. Opens at 8am and closes at 4pm from Tuesday to Sunday

Be prepared to spend: Below RM10
Recommended eats: Pork Noodles and Char Siew Wantan Mee


Kong Sai Restaurant  

Also another cheap and good eat, the best-sellers here would have to be the juicy steamed chicken and hearty pepper pork intestine soup.
