This is when pleasure is sought from being watched by others. It involves everything from stripping to sex tapes. Although not everyone would be comfortable taking part in a homemade movie, 19% of exhibitionists fantasize about being watched during sex, and 5% fantasize about taking their clothes off in public.

A diluted version of this fantasy would be to give your partner a striptease at home, or leave the curtains open in your bedroom when you get down and dirty. 


2. Voyeurism

Voyeurs enjoy watching other people have sex. It's a common fantasy for both men and women, which can include anything from spying on people having sex in a public place, to peeking at skinny-dippers without their knowledge.

The safest way to make this fantasy come true would be to go to a nude beach or watch a burlesque show.


3. Domination

A lot of people dream of having some sort of power over others, so it's unsurprising that they'd fantasize about dominating their partner in the bedroom. This fantasy might be more common amongst men, but it's also becoming quite a thing among women too. Domination fantasies may involve spanking, role play, costumes, and dirty talk. Some couples also add props such as whips, handcuffs, and other sex toys to the mix.

4. Being Dominated

This one is more common amongst women than men, yet is still popular with both sexes. Askmen.com suggests that the women who indulge in this fantasy are fed up with sensitive lovers and want a big, strong man to show them who's boss sometimes. It can be fun to play the damsel in distress, but domination should only happen with permission, and shouldn't seep into other areas of life.


5. Force Fantasies

Force fantasies involve someone being handled roughly and forced into an activity. It's a very common fantasy, and surveys have shown that around 40% of women admit to having them. One study from 1980 showed that 45.8% of men have fantasized about scenes in which they had “the impression of being (sexually dominated against their will) by a woman”, while 44.7% imagined encounters in which a seduced woman pretends to resist their advances.

Psychologists have suggested that these fantasies allow women in particular to enjoy sex without suffering from guilt as a result.


6. Teacher and Student

Apparently, this fantasy is popular among women. It involves one partner playing a naughty student who needs to be disciplined by his or her strict teacher. It's a similar fantasy to the employee-boss fantasy in terms of power play and the element of forbidden desire, only acted out between two consenting adults.


7. Sex in a Public Place

According to Men's Health, 64% of women dream of doing it in public - on a beach, in a field, in an elevator or even a public toilet. This fantasy links somewhat to exhibitionism, but instead of actually being watched, it's the risk of getting caught that makes it so hot. A large proportion of people have actually given in to this fantasy too.


8. Sex with a Stranger

The allure of having sex with a stranger is irresistible for many people. The excitement and mystery about this no-strings-attached hookup makes it easy to blow off some steam and take the pressure off working hard to impress someone you've liked for ages. Plus it won't matter if things go wrong because you'll probably never see them again, so you aren't afraid of trying new things.


9. Sex with the Boss

Seducing a co-worker, especially a boss, is a very daring move. It's dangerous because it could cause tension in the office and make things uncomfortable for other employees, or even lead to sexual harassment claims. Worse, both parties risk being fired. On the other hand, the power dynamics of sleeping with a boss or employee is a major turn on for many people, similar to the thrill of sneaking around.

56% of women and 61% of men have fantasies about going to bed with someone they work with.


10. Threesome

These days, threesomes are the most common sexual fantasy, especially amongst men. It's grown to be more popular than ever, thanks to their growing presence in the media and the ease of arranging hookups online. Despite the awkwardness and jealousy they could cause, many couples see it as a means of bringing the spice back into their relationships, while others simply love the idea of getting it on with hot strangers.

33% of men said having a threesome was their number one sexual fantasy, citing heightened sensation and the excitement of seeing their partner with someone else as appealing factors.
