The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition has launched the careers of many successful models over the years since it launched. Here are some of them who have went on to do even bigger things than just looking good in a bikini. Check out the list below:

1. Brooklyn Decker – February 12, 2010

Has appeared on Ugly Betty, Chuck and Royal Pains and even film: Just Go For It, Battleship and What to Expect When You're Expecting.

2. Cheryl Tiegs – January 12, 1970, January 27, 1975 and February 14, 1983

Launched her own clothing line with Sears and has appeared on Family Guy and Celebrity Apprentice.

3. Heidi Klum – February 20, 1998

Became a household name after her SI cover. Appeared in TV shows like Sex and the City, How I met Your Mother and in films like Zoolanders and Ella Enchanted. Worked for Victoria's Secret and is the host for Project Runway and is the second world's top earning model after Gisele.

4. Kathy Ireland – February 7, 1989, March 9, 1992 and February 14, 1994

Model turned mogul - released fitness videos, clothing line and fitness equipment and wrote six books and has been in films.

5. Marisa Miller – February 12, 2008

Went on to work for Victoria's Secret and has appeared in a host of magazines.

6. Rebecca Romijn – February 12, 1999 and February 17, 2006

Became Mystique in the X-Men film before Jennifer Lawrence took over.

7. Tyra Banks – January 29, 1996 and February 21, 1997

The first African American to appear on the cover of SI swimsuit edition. Moved on to film and has appeared in Higher Learning, Love & Basketball, Coyote Ugly, and has evolved into a mega producer. Runs a talk show now - The Tyra Banks Show and has won two Daytime Emmy Awards.

8. Elle Macpherson – February 10, 1986, February 9, 1987, February 15, 1988, February 14, 1994 and February 17, 2006

Holds the record for most SI Swimsuit edition covers, and transitioned from model to business woman with her own company Elle Macpherson Inc. Has own lingerie line, and has been in films and shows like Sirens, Batman and Robin, Friends, and was the host for Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model.

9. Christie Brinkley – February 5, 1979, February 4, 1980 and February 9, 1981

Appeared in multiple ads, TV shows and film and is widely considered as one of the most attractive people of ALL TIME.

10. Kate Upton – February 14, 2012 and February 15, 2013

Named Rookie of the year in 2011 and appeared twice on the cover and has since appeared in every corner of the Internet. Has done photoshoots in the arctic and in zero-gravity environments and has appeared in movies like Tower Heist, Three Stooges and The Other Woman. Her story is not done yet!
