1. Algeria

Algeria was the least expected to perform in Group H, but managed to make it into the round of 16, though their World Cup campaign ended after losing to Germany.

2. United States

The United States put up a good fight, and managed to get to the round of 16, but ended up losing to Belgium. Still, what a performance!

3. Colombia

Columbia had a lot of talent. From Golden Boot receiver James Rodriguez to Jackson Martinez, and more, they cruised to the quarterfinals, only to lose to hosts Brazil at 2-1. This is the further Columbia has ever went in the World Cup.

4. Mexico

With a coach that's more energetic than you've ever seen, one would have thought Mexico could advance even further. They put up a good fight and made it to the round of 16.

5. Costa Rica

Costa Rica lost to the brilliance of Louis van Gaal's gamble, in the quarterfinals, but really did such an impressive job reaching there in the first place.
