Probably not.
Sanrio revealed that Hello Kitty isn't a cat. Instead, she's a human girl.
![hellokitty1.gif hellokitty1.gif](/files/attach/images/591/438/767/014/hellokitty1.gif)
That is just too crazy, you say!
![hellokitty2.gif hellokitty2.gif](/files/attach/images/591/438/767/014/hellokitty2.gif)
So why did Sanrio decided to drop the bomb on everyone?
![hellokitty3.jpg hellokitty3.jpg](/files/attach/images/591/438/767/014/hellokitty3.jpg)
Christine R. Yano, an anthropologist at the University of Hawaii is curating a Hello Kitty Exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles.

So for some reason, Sanrio decided to correct her after they proofread her texts for the exhibit.
![hellokitty4.jpg hellokitty4.jpg](/files/attach/images/591/438/767/014/hellokitty4.jpg)
The character, isn't a cat as everyone had believed for so long.

The LA Times reports that Sanrio was "corrected very firmly" and that "she's a cartoon character, a little girl, a friend. Not a cat. She was never on all fours. She sits up like a two-legged creature."
![hellokitty7.jpg hellokitty7.jpg](/files/attach/images/591/438/767/014/hellokitty7.jpg)
The LA Times continues to say that Hello Kitty is a human British girl by the name of Kitty White. She lives in London and loves apple pie, because who doesn't.

It is shocking news of course, but why did it take so long for Sanrio to reveal this? And why did it only take a museum exhibit for them to correct someone? It sounds...suspicious to me...
What would the biggest and craziest fans think of this? They've been collecting a character whose real name was Kitty White all this while...
