You'd think you can name your child anything these days, what with all kinds of weird baby names popping up these days. So when a French couple decided their baby girl's name should be Nutella, a French court ruled they can't do that so they renamed her Ella instead.

First reported by French paper La Voix du Nord, French law dictates that birth certificate registrars are obligated to tell local family courts if a baby is given a name that is thought to not be in their best interest.

Seriously, this French rule should exist everywhere. We're pretty sure a lot of people with weird names aren't very happy with theirs.

And because Nutella is a name for a food, a judge ruled No. The judge said it was likely that the girl would be teased because of her name.
