An average face is what you need if you're looking to get the trust of people. According to research published in Psychological Science, the most typical looking faces are also seen as the most trustworthy.

The researchers found that the typical face tends to be perceived as trustworthy.

They made the ultimate typical face by digitally averaging a set of 92 female faces and combined them with a set of 12 attractive faces.

According to the study:

By showing the influence of face typicality on perceived trustworthiness, our findings cast a new light on how face typicality influences social perception. They highlight the social meaning of the typical face because trustworthiness judgments approximate the general evaluation of faces.

They continue:

Face typicality likely indicates familiarity and cultural affiliation — as such, these findings have important implications for understanding social perception, including cross-cultural perceptions and interactions.

So it's probably a good thing you're not super good looking. Having a common face could help, after all.
