Ever wondered if there was a girl Minion, or if they were either male or female? Creator Pierre Coffin, says that they are all boys. The reason is because they were meant to be stupid.

And obviously, girls are not stupid.

"Seeing how dumb and stupid they are, I just couldn't imagine Minions being girls," Coffin said in an interview.

The female characters in the show are uber competent ones. This one here is Scarlet Overkill:
