Wayne Adams and Cathering King spend their days immersed in nature. They live off-the-grid on a floating sustainable island named 'Freedom Cove.' This is how they did it.

The project started in 1991.

A year later in 1992, it looked like a proper house.

King and Adams say that the Cove, cast on Cypress Bay in Tofino, British Columbia, has allowed them to interact with nature without inteferring in it.

Then in 1998, thing started to expand.

Freedom Cove looks like this now, resembling a small town.

It is a paradise of more than 20 years in the making. And the best part it, it is not finished yet.

The island features greenhouses, an art gallery, and a lighthouse tower, all of which use recycled materials and painted bright shades of pinks and purples. Food is grown on expansive gardens and it harnesses the sun's energy using solar panels.

Can you live here?
