Hugging is super okay. Unless it is explicitly not welcomed from the other party. But before you go ahead and give another dude a hug, you'll need to learn some rules if you don't already know them. Check them out below:

1. Establish this is something both parties want to do first if you've never done it together before.

2. And if you're totally cool about things just lean and body-contact a bro, chest to chest.

3. Bro-hug to avoid other conflicts. Hugs always make things better.

4. Never hug a bro if you're going to be a baby. It's kinda weird.

5. And never whisper in their ear, because this is creepy.

6. Sneaking up from behind like this may look weird. But if you're close then it's okay.

7. The bro-side-hug is weird because that's what girlfriends do. So don't do this.

8. Celebratory and acknowledgement hugs are the best kind. Follow up with a pat.

9. If a handshake / high five goes awry, just go in for the bro-hug.

10. Rule of thumb is keep it as short as possible. Leave the talking out.

11. Intense hugs are manly. Don't be afraid to give / receive them.

12. Shake + hug. This is bro-hug standard modus operandi.

13. This is a hug of love. It's okay to give them anytime.

14. Bro-hugs are better than cheek kisses.

15. You can only do this if you're playing around, and people respect you.
