By now you should have watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens already, and if you've not, you might want to skip this post. The bigger question is why haven't you seen it just yet? Ben Ostrower has a very interesting theory, and we like it.

So here it goes.

He first dives in to the question of who is Rey? Where did she come from? Who is her family? What is her connection to Luke's lightsaber? What is the significance of it all?

Ostrower then points out some clues. First, the accent.

Only Obi Wan and Rey have British accents. Could that be a clue?

The second clue: The Jedi mind trick scene.

There's a scene where Rey persuades a Stormtrooper to open her cell door and drop his weapon, and it kinda echoes Obi Wan's signature abilities.

The way she poked around Starkiller Base.

Does this not remind you of Obi Wan when he was traveling the halls of the Death Star, disabling the tractor beam and more?

In fact, there are so many more clues!

She hears Obi Wan's voice at the end of the lightsaber vision flash scene, and her loneliness is likely referencing Obi Wan's lonely hermit status.

Could she be Obi Wan's granddaughter?

Of course, there are more questions here than answers. Like, when the hell did Obi Wan get married? Or did he do so? Aren't Jedis monks that aren't suppose to get attached?

Is the old guy from the beginning her father? Uncle? Something like that?

Then there's the tension between Ben Solo / Kylo Ren. Ostrower posits that they could be soon in a face off to finish the fight their grandfathers started.

But Ostrower doesn't stop there. He dives deeper by mentioning how this could be a twist in the series and it's not all a Skywalker family drama we're watching here and that the Kenobis could really be the heroes of the saga.
