In its upcoming Rebirth event, DC comics announced a few new bold changes. The Superman character will hit a reset button in will be Chinese. He'll be 17-years-old, hailing from Shanghai. Also, Lois Lane will have powers.

The "New Super-Man" series will be penned by Gene Luen Yang. The Chinese Man of Steel's name will be Kenan Kong.

The story will not be a retelling of the original Superman, but a continuation of Superman's death, as his powers are spread out across the globe.
