A part of the Bharatpur district, Deeg is said to be a part of Lord Krishna’s Parikrama path. It is known for its alluring gardens, forts, fountains, and palaces. Deeg Palace is 32kilometres from Bharatpur in Rajasthan, and takes about four hours to reach from Delhi, and one hour from Mathura. Deeg Palace is open 9am to 5pm except on Fridays. Deeg also hosts a number of ‘Havelis’ from the late 17th and early 18th century. Most of these have been inspired by the Mughal architecture, and are built in marble.
