Not much can beat running a hot bath after a long day, or just on a day for self-care. This is also why you often see people in television shows and movies running a bath to relax after either a long day or to decompress after an emotional event or situation. Though movies and television shows may not be “real”, relaxing in a hot bath for those reasons are.
It has been said by many that bath oils when mixed with hot, steamy water, not only enhance your bath time, it penetrates your skin giving a rejuvenating and relaxing feeling. It also has a way of changing your mood and calming your thoughts. Taking a hot bath with an aromatic and calming effect is a huge reason to start using bath oils. But that is not the only one.
Here are 4 Reasons You Should Start Using Bath Oils:
1. Improved Blood Circulation
If you often feel dizziness and headaches during the day or experience the numbness of the limbs, there are chances that your heart is not adequately pumping blood to the body. This could be because you are sedentary most of the day and not move around as much or you don’t exercise as often as you should. Bath oils (like peppermint, ginger, and chamomile) have the ability to penetrate your skin and increase circulation. In doing this, it not only has a camping effect but an anti-inflammatory one as well.
2. Fatigue Reduction
There are times when you come home after an exhausting day at work or errand running, and you feel as though you have nothing to give but have so much to do. You try to muster up enough energy to and do so and just feel worse by the end of the day. While you may think you don’t have time to relax, did you know sitting in a warm bath for 20 minutes can help eliminate fatigue when adding bath oils? If not, now you do. Including bath oils like sweet orange, spearmint, or rosemary has the natural ability to combat fatigue.
3. Bacterial/Viral Immunity
A lot of essential bath oils have great immunity boosters. And while most eating healthy and taking vitamins can help build immunity, essential oils can penetrate the skin so you build your immunity from the outside in and the inside out. Bathing in tea tree, eucalyptus, oregano, or lemon naturally boosts immunity by removing free radicals and other toxins from your body that can cause impairments to different parts of your body.
4. Radiant Skin
Healthy skin is an obvious benefit of using essential bath oils. The more you bathe the more you will notice that your skin will become softer because it absorbs the oils and helps with circulation; therefore improving skin. Some bath oils can also help treat some skin conditions as well.
So, while soap does have its place in bathing, it does not penetrate the skin as deeply as bath oils? Think about it. For as fast as you wash (whether in a shower or bathe), water immediately rinses off any benefits soap could have. Bathing allows your body to naturally absorb into your pores the longer you are in the bath. Also, bath oils have benefits that soap does not have. For instance, bath oils are made of completely natural ingredients. Because of this, a lot of people should make bathing a part of their routine to maximize the health benefits natural oils can give. Bath oils are not only better for your skin, but also induce certain health advantages.
