Good education begins with good teachers. They really make a difference in students' lives. A better teach is measured by how they boost student test scores.
Having a great teacher is also good because it boosts a studen't income by age 28 by an average of 1.3%.
A series of working papers (I and II) from John Bates Clark medal winner Raj Chetty, and coauthors Jonah Rockoff and John Friedman have figured out that primary school students with better teachers are more likely to go to college and earn more money and are less likely to have kids when they are teenagers.
