Volkswagen announced the launch of the new R-Line editions in the UK. It builds on the equipment list of the GT, adding a different front R-Line front grille with round fog lights, R-Line front bumper, R-Line logo in the radiator grille, sill extensions, LED daytime running lights and 18 inch "Mallory" alloy wheels on the outside.

VW will offer the R-Line with two engines, a 207hp (210PS) 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and a 175hp (177PS) 2.0-liter turbo diesel BlueMotion Technology which includes battery regeneration and Stop/Start systems.
