The smarty pants over at MIT have developed a handheld milling machine. Now you can be your own Michaelangelo.

Users start with a 3D model on a computer, but instead of using a machine to craft it out, the handheld mill  removes only what's needed from a solid block of material.

The device uses motion sensors and a highly accurate magnetic tracker, and the computer is able to tell where the tip of the cutting tool is at all times. It will automatically stop the spinning bit when it hits material that's not supposed to be removed. You won't be making any mistakes with this tool.
