People who have a symmetrical face tend to be regarded as more beautiful. At least, that's what conventional science has led us to believe. Photographer Alex John Beck played around with the idea by creating perfectly symmetrical composite images of people's faces in his latest series - Both Sides Of.

You can see two faces in the pictures. The one on the left half is a person's face mirrored and the other is the right side. They are both symmetrical, but they aren't always beautiful. Who said symmetry was beauty?
