Apple hired Jean-François Mulé, a former SVP of technology development at CableLabs as engineering director.

Mulé wrote on his LinkedIn profile that he is "challenged, inspired and part of something big," in his new role at Apple. What could that "something big" be?

Mulé's stint at CableLabs lasted for a year, from August 2011 through August 2012. CableLabs, founded in 1988, describes itself as a "non-profit research and development consortium that is dedicated to pursuing new cable telecommunications technologies and to helping its cable operator members integrate those technical advancements into their business objectives."

Could this be any indication that Apple is ready to upgrade its Apple TV experience?
