After six deaths in two years, Western Australia is now the deadliest place on earth for shark attacks. The state now has a one kilometer trap to shoot them according to their controversial cull strategy.

But instead of killing them, how about avoiding them? This idea here is to track the location of Great Whites and tell people where they are in real time via Twitter.

Scientists have tagged some 320 sharks to their locations. It triggers an alert whenever they are near the beach. It is definitely faster than listening to a radio report for sure.

The tracking can also prevent unnecessary human-shark interactions by collecting useful data about shark movements. By preventing us from meeting, everyone wins.
