1.2 million people on the road every year. But that's not the worst part. The UN says that the number is set to triple over the next two decades.

The folks over at Pulitzer Center journalists put together an interactive map showing just how prevalent these "accidents" are. It includes a little tour of the best and worst nations.

Nigeria just made it mandatory to pass a driving test. Sweden is doing the best at ending traffic deaths - only 300 people killed each year. Australia has seen an 80 percent decline in road deaths. Russia is filled with reckless inexperienced drivers.
