With so much data on Facebook, it is scary to know just how much the social network knows about you. Here's one: Facebook knows how long you're likely to be in a relationship and it also knows where you're most likely to find love.

They also know when you're going to start one in the first place. This chart explains it. From Facebook researcher Carlos Diuk:

In 100 days or so before you're likely to enter a relationship with someone, the number of interactions between users is expected to rise consistently. Then before the relationship begins, there's a free fall in the number of timeline posts because people may be hanging out in person instead of on Facebook.

After the relationship is established, the freefall is followed by a steady decline in the number of wall posts because presumably, couples are too busy spending real time with one another.

The chart below shows how many positive emotions like "love", "nice", "happy" and more show up in a persons' interactions compared to negative ones like "hate" before and after the formation of a new relationship. Check it out:

The sample data was taken between April 2010 and October 2013 and includes users whose status were listed as "single" for 100 days before and "in a relationship" 100 days after mutually confirming a relationship.
