The kitchen in most homes tends to be the most important room in the house. This multipurpose space is where the most amount of ‘traffic’ is in any home.  For many, it is a place where families can come together to cook, eat, catch up with each other and is even used for the likes of arts and crafts and homework etc.  And, if you have ever been to any house party, you’ll know that this is the one room in the home, that your party guests tend to congregate, probably because this is where their drinks can easily be topped up!

But because this space is highly utilised, it can become a little crowded and often a little tired looking. To make sure that you are making the most of your space, read on for some tips on how you can spruce up your kitchen, by making a few tweaks here and there.

Storage
If space is an issue in the kitchen, then you want to make sure that it is as uncluttered as much as possible and that you are storing items that aren’t being used 24/7. For example, if your worktop space is limited, consider hanging pots, pans and utensils and even creating a hanging rack for your spices and herbs. Not only can this look very on-trend, but you’ll free up your worktops for cooking and it will keep the kitchen neat and tidy.

Switch Up Your Cabinet Knobs and Handles
This seems to be another popular trend of late which doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. Replacing the handles and knobs on your kitchen cabinets can have quite a big effect for such a small change. As we all know too well, the handles and knobs can become grubby and loose, which is no wonder given the amount they are being used day in day out. But, when it comes to replacing them, think outside the box a little and don’t just go for the conventional style. There are lots of quirky ones out there to choose from that will help to give your cabinets some serious style points.

New Radiator
Is your current kitchen radiator awkwardly sitting behind the dining table? Or do you find that it just takes up too much space, protruding from a wall that you can’t do anything with? If this is something that you’re dealing with, why not think about replacing it altogether. You could replace your tired, bulky old horizontal radiator with a sleek new vertical style like those found at Trade Radiators.  This will not only free up valuable space, but it will help towards giving your kitchen a new lease of life.

New Backsplash
Whether you are updating an old backsplash or decide to add one for the first time, you’ll be glad that you did. A new backsplash can have quite a dramatic effect on the overall look and feel of a kitchen. You will find a range on the market to choose from in finishes such as glass, stone and marble with various colours and designs.
