Motherhood changes women, but in Nicola Weller's case, pregnancy saved her life.

Weller had developed an inexplicable swelling under her ribs, and after getting it checked out she received the most awful news: she had a tumor in her uterus and the doctors weren't sure if it was cancerous. But then something miraculous happened.

Despite using the IUD contraceptive, Weller found out at her examination that she was 7 weeks pregnant. But while doctors located early signs of life in her womb, one thing was missing - her tumor.

Medical professionals claim the pregnancy hormone that had begun to accumulate in her body at a rapid rate may have helped shrink her tumor until it eventually disintegrated. Doctors performed a biopsy on the tumor residue that remained in Weller's body, and found that it was in the early stages of cancer.

Weller gave birth to her son three years ago, and the tumor has yet to return.
