As we all know, true beauty is about what’s on the inside. It’s bad enough with main stream media banging on about our looks all of the time without every article we come across doing that too. This article is more about at home pamper treatments for you to try when you feel like you need a little pick me up!

Here are six ways that coffee can help you to boost your self-confidence by helping the beauty on the outside to match the real beauty inside:

1 Coffee Can Make Your Skin Radiant

This is a two step process. Firstly, drinking the coffee can work by making you feel more alert and awake and reducing the effects of tiredness on your skin.

The second step is to use coffee as a facial scrub. This scrub can help to reduce fine lines, remove dead skin cells and give your skin a really good, hydrating cleanse.

Add coffee grounds and Epsom salts to a bowl of warm water. Rinse your face first with the water, then gently massage the coffee grounds (which will sink to the bottom of the water) into your face, concentrating on your T zone. Finally, rinse them back off using the water in the bowl.

2 Coffee Can Boost Your Hair Colour and Add Shine

For brunettes, using espresso on your hair can add depth of colour and shine. Simply make a shot of espresso then add some extra grounds to the shot to make it a bit thicker. Apply to freshly shampooed hair and leave on for three to five minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Your hair will be shinier, have a better colour and smell amazing!

3 Coffee Can Reduce Under Eye Bags

Again, this is a two step process. As drinking your favourite coffee helps you to feel less tired, your eyes will be less likely to become puffy.

If, however, you still find you have some bags under your eyes (maybe after a particularly late night), applying coffee grounds directly to the skin causes it to dehydrate slightly which will reduce the appearance of dark circles by causing the blood vessels to shrink slightly.

Mix coffee grinds and water into a thick paste and apply to the area underneath your eye. Leave on for a minutes and rinse off with cool water.

4 Use Coffee as an All Over Exfoliator

If your skin is looking a little dull and is dry, then an exfoliator could be just the answer. Instead of buying expensive exfoliators, try an at home one:

Mix together half a cup of Epsom salts, a cup of cooled coffee grounds, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and a table spoon (or the inside of two tea bags) of green tea leaves. Gently massage the mixture into your skin in circular clockwise motions, concentrating on problem areas such as your knees and elbows. Shower as normal.

5 Coffee Can Keep Your Smile Natural

Although it’s well known that coffee can stain your teeth, and you should always try to brush your teeth as quickly as you can after consuming coffee for this reason, the tannins in coffee actually help your teeth.

They can prevent plaque from forming, which in turn means you are much less likely to get cavities which can lead to rotting teeth and chipped teeth.

6 Coffee Can Boost Your Mind and Your Mood

Nothing can compare to wearing a smile if you want to be attractive to other people. Coffee mimics the effects of dopamine on your brain, meaning you get a rush of energy and the feel good factor that makes you feel happier.
A smile goes a long way, and the boost in mental acuity is perhaps the most important thing of all. A beautiful mind will take you much further, and make you far more attractive, than a beautiful outside!
