Writer's block is more common than you think, although comedian Jerry Seinfeld diagnosed it as a made-up excuse for not doing your work.

There are some days when you need a little help to string sentences together or have an idea of what to write - be it for an article, a presentation, or even for the profound Facebook status you want to drop.

A new creative-writing app Coda wants to change all that by offering some assistance for people who are caught in a writer's block. The iOS app lets you ask your friends or its community for input on your next sentence, verse, or anything you're writing.

The author can ultimately decide which contributor's suggestions get included into the original document, and users can log in using their Twitter accounts.

Although Coda isn't the first app for writers, it might be the best one yet. Available for download at $1.99.
