An air mattress is known to have the best comfort and convenience and it cannot be compared with any other portable bed. The cool air mattress can be deflated and stored in the tiniest places. You can use it for your guests or some camping trips.

But it requires a few steps from your side. After all, it is your specific comfort level and the mattress has to be tweaked accordingly. Let's dive deep into what you can do to make your air mattress more comfortable according to your specific preferences.

Using a mattress topper

This is to add a bit more sponginess to your sleeping bed. It can harden or soften the mattress. Even if you don't have a mattress topper, a foam pad or an egg crate can also alter things up. Now, let's come to the temperature of the mattress. If it gets too hot or too cold, a dual temp mattress topper will suit the best. The better solution will be to buy a mattress which already is attached with a topper.

Make sure the top layer doesn't slide

The top layer of a mattress is prone to sliding and moving. Some floors make it quite annoying for a person with those squeaking noises against the plastic bottom of the mattress. In this case, a box spring helps to elevate the mattress making it easier to get in and out of the bed. It also protects the mattress from beneath and away from room temperature to alter your preferred temperature easily. Nowadays, a sure grip bottom mattress is also available in the market.

Choose a mattress with a headboard or attach one

There has to be a boundary in your mattress so that the pillow doesn't fall off in the middle of the night. It's not that big a deal to get it attached as you can pull the mattress against a wall, cabinet or a couch. You definitely don't want any discomfort with the pillow.

Make sure there is no leakage

There is a chance that your air mattress is losing some air pressure without a visible hole in it. This leads to discomfort all along the night which you only notice in the morning. Make sure that there is no leakage in the bed. To check whether this is the case, inflate the bed fully and place something heavy on top and see if it loses any air after a while.
