It's a sad day for Gleeks everywhere. Shortly after debuting the heartbreaking Cory Monteith tribute episode, the show's creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the series will be coming to an end after its sixth season.

The reason for the decision was because he always believed that the show would end with Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Monteith) getting together:
“I always knew that, I always knew how it would end," he said. "I knew what the last shot was — (Finn) was in it. I knew what the last line was — (Rachel) said it to him.”
Murphy says he now plans to end the series in a different way, which will be “kind of in [Cory's honor].” So you can expect a lot more bawling ahead. In the meantime, here's Mercedes emoting all our feelings through song after hearing this sad news.
