Bonsai, the rescue English bulldog was born on April 17 with a combination of rare genetic disorders that will forever affect the quality of his life. Nonetheless, he's one happy looking pup and you'll fall in love with him soon enough.

Bonsai was born with caudal regression syndrome, sacrocaudal dysgenesis, which is believed to be spina bifida.

He was born with half a spine, no functional pelvis, and tiny contracted hind legs.

Bonsai's owners weren't sure how to care for him, so they contacted Friends of Emma, a rescue organization dedicated to helping dogs with special needs.

Doctors determined that Bonsai's biggest issue was his hind legs, so they were both amputated in late June.

He is recovering fine now and has even bonded with a fellow amputee.
