If there’s something that will never go out of style, it’s a glorious beard. However, those who can grow one face difficulties in finding what style would fit them best. If you’re one of them, there’s no better place for you to be than here.

In the following, we’ll tell you what styles go with each face shape.

Beard Styles By Face Shapes

1. Round Face

If you have a round face, you’ve got for options to choose from: the Bandholz, patch, goatee or chin strap. All of these are perfect for a round-shaped face. The Bandholz is, hands down, the best-looking one.

If you do decide to grow a Bandholz beard, keep in mind that it requires constant care and maintenance. Of course, it all pays off in the end, as this style looks nothing short of gorgeous.

If your beard is too patchy to accommodate a Badholz, the remaining three styles will do, as well.

2. Rectangular Face

Mutton chops, full beard or full goatee and chin curtain are three (theoretically four) styles that go well with a rectangular-shaped face. Obviously, a full beard is great, but if you can’t grow it or you need to wait too much, you can choose to grow a full goatee.

The thing about the goatee is that it can eventually be developed into a full beard. If your hair growth is usually slow, the goatee can pave the way for that beard you want so much.

3. Triangular Face

The goatee (evidently), Balbo and chinstrap + mustache are the three styles you should consider growing. A triangular face isn’t as “friendly” with full moustaches or full beards, so you don’t really get too many choices.

You could also try your luck with some mutton chops.

4. Diamond Face

Zappa, Goatee, Balbo, Anchor, Chin Strap and moustache, full beard and Sparrow are the styles that go perfectly with a diamond-shaped face. As you can see, this face shape can handle the largest number of bear styles.

Obviously, you can try various combinations until you’ve reached the desired effect. You don’t need to settle on one immediately, there’s no rush.

5. Oblong Face

An oblong-shaped face has been made for mutton chops. They can be grown by men with other face shapes, as well, but they won’t look anywhere near as great as they would on oblong-shaped faces.

The anchor style beard also works well on this face shape, as does the classic full beard.

Final Thoughts

Beards are gorgeous, but many men make the mistake of underestimating how much maintenance goes into keeping one. You’ll need to trim it on a regular basis, as well as purchase all sorts of conditioners

If you decide to grow a full beard, you won’t need to take as much care of it as you would of other styles. The choice is yours. If you’ve got the time to take care of your beard properly, then grow whatever style you wish.
