Seems like a dream come true to own Google.com, doesn't it? This ex-employee at Google bought sole ownership of the domain name. Too bad that only lasted for one whole minute. But still, how did it happen??

Sammay Ved was worked at Google for five years before leaving to get his MBA.

He searched around in Google Domains one night and noticed that Google.com was available for purchase.

He added it to his cart in disbelief, and to his surprise, the transaction went through. He only spent $12!

He wasn't sure why he was able to buy the domain in the first place, and was even able to access the administrator rights.

One minute later, Ved's ownerhsip was revoked. He received an email saying that the domain had been purchased by another registered site and was refunded his $12.

It could very well be that someone within the administration accidentally forgot to renew the name.
