Summer is approaching in some parts of the world, and your skin is itching to soak up some sun... but not before loading up on sunblock, or you might end up with flaring, peeling skin resulting from overexposure to the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

While sunburns might seem only a temporary annoyance, studies have shown that just one blistering sunburn during childhood or adolescence can double a person's chances of developing melanoma later in life.

So the next time you head out to bake a tan in the sun, please remember to slather on some sunblock, or you could end up with a disastrous sunburn like these unfortunate humans below.
