How do you know if someone is smiling, or not underneath a dust mask? It's impossible to tell any facial emotions underneath it. The folks in Beijing were forced to raise its smog alert from yellow to orange, which represented the second highest level. Everyone had to wear a mask to protect themselves.

Air pollution is becoming a common problem, and wearing a dust mask represents a gloomy future to come. But instead of hiding that smile or frown underneath it, Shanghai-based designer Simone Rebaudengo made this:
