Riding a motorbike is a lot of fun. There is a certain machismo and cool associated with it, as well as it being quite an exhilarating experience in its own right. Of course, for many of us, it’s also a matter of necessity as well, because getting to work through crowded streets would be all but impossible in a car. But whether you ride your 2017 Yamaha SCR 950 for business or pleasure there are a few items that are essential before you can get going. Read on to find out what they are.

The Bike

Obviously, you need the bike itself. Which is, if I may say, a triumph of retro styling. This scrambler style bike, which means you can ride it on or if you are feeling adventurous off the road, is the perfect choice for the daily commute. It has two air-cooled 942cc engines and is quite the pleasure to ride, so if you are in the market for a new steed then don't forget to check this baby out.

Helmet

Of course, while you are riding your 2017 Yamaha SCR 950, or a bike like it, you will need some items to keep you as safe as possible. One of those items is a motorcycle helmet.

Still, way too few people chose to wear a motorbike helmet when riding these days. It's shocking! I just don't understand why anyone would put themselves at such a risk? The human body is pretty amazing, and it can recover from a lot of things, but a direct hit from a lorry, when the rider isn't wearing a helmet isn't one of them.

So unless you want to crack your skull like an egg, do some research on the best helmets around. Remember too that there are now a lot of different ones to choose from, and some are even small enough to fit in a backpack. So there really is no excuse for ignoring this!

Tires

Now, any experienced rider will know that something that gets a lot of wear and tear on a bike it's its tires. That means that they need to be replaced regularly for both performance and safety reasons.

Of course, you need to get the right tires for your ride. Whether that is a sports bike, scooter or luxury model. To help you can check out sites like Bikers Basics. Where they review the different types of tiers and show you what would work best for your given situation.

Alarms

Also, something to remember is that if you are spending a pretty penny on a decent bike like the SCR 950, you probably don't want to scrimp when it come to security or alarms. Motorbikes can make easy prey for thieves as they are relatively easy to take without being stopped.

That is unless you go for a sturdy lock or alarm system. Preferable a nice loud one! Which will attract attention and deter thieves. As they won't be able to make a clean getaway!
