VW revealed more photos and a video of it's most powerful Golf ever - the Golf R. There's not much information except that its powered by a 300PS 2.0 liter turbocharged gasoline engine, and sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.

The Golf R is also 18 percent more fuel efficient, and averages 6.9 1/100km when equipped with the DSG gearbox. The power is put down by all four wheels via an updated 4Motion all-wheel drive system.

The model is offered as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, while a six-speed double-clutch automatic (DSG) is available as an option. Standard equipment includes progressive steering, bi-xenon headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 225/40 low-profile tires.

Check it out in the video below along with a gallery and stay tuned for its Frankfurt debut.
