Each new Bugatti Veyron that leaves the factory is not only a new model but a special edition. We'll be seeing new special editions of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse created under the "Bugatti Legends" banner to commemorate the people behind the brand.

The first is dedicated to Bugatti racing driver Jean-Pierre Wimille. Now the automaker has released the second model paying tribute to Jean Bugatti, the son of the company founder and creator of the Type 57SC Atlantic.

Scheduled for an international premiere at this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, the "Jean Bugatti" Grand Sport Vitesse will be limited to three examples (just like all other five models in the Legend series), each priced at €2.28 million (about $3 million or £1.92 million), not including tax and other charges.

Built on the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse featuring an 8.0-liter W16 engine with 1,184hp (1,200PS) and 1,500Nm (1,106 lb-ft) torque for 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) sprint in 2.6 seconds, the “Jean Bugatti”will "follow the concept of the Type 57SC Atlantic La Voiture Noire, as closely as possible".
