Toyota Motorsport GmbH or TMG for short is the automaker's official sporty sub-brand. Up until now they've had nothing much to show for it, and aside from suped up cars, no news.

Toyota wants to give their brand image some sporting edge it's lost over the years. Auto Express reveals that Toyota is serious about making TMG a sub-brand. Karl Schlicht, executive vice president at Toyota Europe said there is “an appetite for Toyota to do credible performance cars,” and that the sportier cars could actually wear a TMG badge.

Sounds like a good idea, finally?
