To make this process easier than ever, we've made a list of 4 Ways You Could Enter the Health Field so if you're on the fence about where to begin, you know just what to do:

#4. Find Any Overlapping Skills
If you're somebody who wants to enter the health field, it's important that you have some type of credentials. This generally refers to a Bachelor's Degree in any type of study, but can be used to define a variety of different topics. In fact, you'd be surprised at how many different healthcare jobs you can get with skills that you have already trained for!

The most important part about finding a job that aligns with skills you've already developed is research. By familiarizing yourself with the types of jobs you want, you can find a way in based on the criteria you can fill. The best part about the health field is that it's very nuanced and vast, so you're bound to find an entry point for skills you already have sooner than later!

#3. Be Open to Anything

One of the most important things to understand about the health field is that you likely won't get the position you want right away. For many people who work in the health field, it's common to start at an internship level while you're still learning or have a related side job while you're in school. For example, being an IT worker or secretary at a doctor's office can be a great way to get into the health field before you have your health-specific credentials figured out.

#2. Register for the MCAT

If you want to get the credentials that will put you on your way to becoming a nurse, doctor or other type of profession integral to the health field, you need to register for the MCAT. MCAT stands for the Medical College Admission Test and is essentially a test similar to the SAT that makes sure you know everything there is to know about preparing for medical school. Getting a good MCAT score is often essential to getting into a good medical school, allowing you to subsequently enter the health field.

#1. Be Prepared to Prepare

The part about the health field that can't be exaggerated is that you need to be prepared to prepare. What do we mean by this? Well, it's not a coincidence that many people dedicate years to entering the health field. This doesn't mean that it's impossible, but you do need to commit a lot of your time and energy to preparing for it. For example, the MCAT is an incredibly intensive and thorough test, requiring you to dedicate a lot of your time to knowing all of the information in it. We recommend you start by registering for an MCAT prep class or by checking out books related to the subject.

Regardless of where you start, though, it's important to remember that drive is the main motivator for getting you into the health field. This is why we think that anybody who truly wants to can make it happen with these 4 tips!
