Samsung announced the release of the Galaxy Camera 2 – a mobile device aimed toward a niche market of consumers seeking a combination of capture performance, sharing capability and a smartphone profile.

It features standout specifications such as a 1.6GHz quad-core processor running Android's 4.3 Jelly Bean platform, 16.3 megapixels and a 23mm wide angle lens with 21x optical zoom.

No word yet on the price point of the Galaxy Camera 2. We'll probably have to wait till CES to find out more.
