Use Wireless Power to Control LEDs with Pennies, and Lemon Juice [VIDEO]
2013.12.26
The future of lights and decoration will soon be tapping on wireless power. But before that becomes mainstream with everyone having the know-how to do it, here's a tutorial that can help you out with it.
As Popular Science points out, pennies minted after 1982 feature a zinc core covered in an outer layer of copper. It can be easily removed with a bit of sanding and after that, exposing it to an acid like lemon juice causes the zink to dissolve and release electrons like a battery, giving you enough juice to run a lower power LED.
It may be a tad bit late to try this out now, but how bout doing this for the next Christmas? [Popular Science]
